Chairman of State Commission on Prisoners of War (POW), Hostages and Missing Citizens, Minister of National Security of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant-General Eldar Mahmudov met with former head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) country representative Mary Werntz and Martin Amacher, who is to substitute her at this post, 19 September.
The working group of the State Commission on POWs, Hostages and Missing Persons made a statement on Thursday to respond to the claims by co-chairs of the international Working Group for the release of prisoners and hostages and the tracing of Missing People of the Karabakh conflict (IWG) that there is little chance of finding the missing people.
The State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons regards widespread recently in mass media by the coordinator of the "International working group on release of POWs, hostages and missing citizens" in Azerbaijan messages on arrest of the persons released from captivity and, ostensibly, prosecution of relatives of the persons sent to the third countries, as the action directed on public opinion.
